SCLA 210: Civic Thought
Cornerstone is offering multi-sections of SCLA 210, Civic Thought, next fall. With this course, students will fulfill:
· Their Civics Literacy Graduation Requirement
· Their UCC Humanities Requirement
· and it provides them with 3 more credit hours toward the Cornerstone Certificate (now, that’s triple play!)
SCLA 210 is part of Cornerstone’s new Civics Institute, something so incredibly important to the health and well-being of our students and our university. Civics is about understanding our political system and participating in it. SCLA 210, and the co-curriculars offered by the Institute, will give our students opportunities to cultivate the habits of good citizenship through reading and discussing foundational texts and by putting what is learned into play, through debates, case competitions, dinners, and discussions; state house internships and by simply rubbing elbows with leaders.
